Our History
Founded by Duane and Arlene Scholten in 1980 with a single employee, Scholten's began by buying and selling used equipment from the Midwest. The company was incorporated in 1984 and has since grown significantly. Today, we are an authorized dealer of Kubota, CLAAS, JCB , Stihl, Trioliet, Kawasaki, Land Pride, Great Plains, Midsota, US Mower, Valmetal, FAE and JBS Equipment.
Our Innovations
Scholten's Equipment has been a pioneer in introducing relatively unknown ideas and new lines such as self-propelled forage harvesters, Kemper heads, Haybuster, Ty-Crop, and JCB. Duane Scholten's connections to the Midwest have allowed us to become leaders in buying late model John Deere equipment and transporting it to the west coast.
Our Commitment
Order buying of late model John Deere equipment from the Midwest remains a major niche for us. We conduct a lot of repeat business over the phone, and all units over $20,000 are sold with a 100-hour, 100% warranty. This practice, which we've maintained since 1982, ensures customer satisfaction and sets us apart from competitors.
Our Team
Duane Scholten is a "hands-on" owner, maintaining close contact with all employees and customers. In 1994, Scholten's Equipment became employee-owned, with five long-time employees investing in the company to stimulate involvement and create a rewarding work environment. We believe in hiring responsible people with a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
Our Facilities
Today, Scholten's Equipment is headquartered on a 25-acre facility with a 14,000 square foot shop and showroom. We employ over 40 people and attribute our success to low employee turnover, dedicated personnel, and close attention to customer needs. Our second store in Burlington, WA, opened in 1994, further expanding our reach.
